Mark Joyner Wants Links to His New Blogging Course

He also wants a review but, BEFORE we see it.

I know this is about marketing and more importantly, it’s about getting back links to his site.

Here’s the deal.

Mark Joyner is now giving away a new blogging course. He’s posted a request on his blog.

But he’s asking for people to review it without seeing it. Furthermore, he’s asking everyone to put the following code on their blogs to promote his course.

I’ve taken Simpleology 101 and it’s very good and free.

Well I don’t get the course without the links so, here goes nothing.

 Between HERE:

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

And HERE is the code.

Now I have to verify with him that I posted the code.

After checking the links it look like you’ll have to do the same to get the course.

I’ll keep you updated after I post this and verify.

Back To the Drawing Board

I’m always looking for ways to capture the ideas that I come up with throughout the day.

For  instance, I carry a small recordable MP3 player made by Creative Labs that allows me to record voice messages, then play them back or plug it back in the computer and listen to them again.

Sometimes it’s great to use when I come up with those brilliant copywriting moments.

But many times the good ideas come to me while I’m in the shower.  That is, when I’m not singing.

So, for probably two months now I’ve thought "what if I put a dry erase board in here?" Then, when I come up with new ideas I’ll write them on the board.

I thought that was a pretty good idea so yesterday I bought a small dry erase board.

I carefully applied the double sticky foam tape to the back of the dry erase board in and stuck it  inside my shower.  I even tested it, as you can see here.   White board in the shower

No, the "hi babe message" is not to myself.  Even though self-love is a good thing.

However, I was disappointed this morning to find that after I start the shower and a little bit of  steam condensation builds up on the white board.

I can’t write on it! The right side is where it didn’t work when in the shower.

So I’m thinking well, maybe it’s this crappy little pen that came with the board is hanging upside down. Maybe the ink ran to the wrong direction and may not be in the tip.

Well that wasn’t it either.

So, I try to wipe off the board, and try to write on it.  That didn’t work either.

Next, after I got out of the shower and started writing this post I tried an Expo dry erase marker.

Just as a test to see if that worked better.  And so far, the results are impressive.

And as I know you want to keep updated on this productivity tip, I’ll let you know how the Expo marker works tomorrow when I’m really in the shower.

There’s a mental image, you probably didn’t want.

Have a lovely day.

New SnagIt Will Send Images Directly to Flickr

As I mentioned in a previous post, Ed Dale in his Thirty Day Challenge showed this cool way to contruct a blog post. I found a tool called SnagIt, that did pretty much the same thing for windows users.

I was using SnagIt to ftp my images to my hosting server.

Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge works on Windows also!

 Free software tool does Windows

Snagit Box PictureHey Ed Dale, Check this out! A Free Windows application that will do what a Mac does.

The reason for this post is because I just started Ed Dales Thirty Day Challenge.

He has a great video there showing how to respond to some item he’s read, create a blog post,  capture an image off the screen, upload it to his Flickr account, and then get a bunch of links to his site and the blog post.

The only problem with this is that at Dale is a Macintosh evangelist.

He is using a Macintosh program called Skitch to clip an image off of a webpage and then upload it to his Flickr account.

And then he says something like, "I don’t know if there’s a Windows program that does this".

While I Ed I’m here to tell you that there is.  And I made a video of how to use it.  So check it out.

There is a Free Image capture utility from Tech Smith, called SnagIt. You can get version 7.25 here.   Make sure you get version 7.25.

The Registration Key is free and available from TechSmith.

Watch this video to see how it will allow you to capture an image and upload it to your Blog server. Then you can use it in a blog post as an "eye grabbing attention getter".

ScribeFire the coolest way to post to your blog?

Cool Firefox addon for posting to your blogs

scribefirelogo.jpg

I just learned about ScribeFire from Ed Dales’ Thirty Day Challenge video.

ScribeFire is a plugin for the Firefox browser which allows you to post to your blog without logging in to the Dashboard, if your using WordPress for example.

That’s how I’m making this post. As soon as I learn more about it I’ll show you how cool this is.

Test of Mediacaster Plugin

Get Flash to see this player.

This was a test of the Media Caster plug-in from these Semio-logic Pro theme.

This is a view from where I live in Colorado back in August.

The video demonstrates how you could market just about anything with a WordPress blog and the SemiologicPro package.

Tear sheet marketing, What is it and who’s doing it

Recently on one of our mastermind calls we were discussing tear sheet advertising and what it is.

For those of you that don’t know what tear sheet marketing is, have you ever received direct mail advertising it looks like a page torn out of a newspaper or magazine with a Post-it attached to it like it’s from a friend that says "read this","or check this out Dave!"

That is tear sheet advertising. Brunson Tear Sheet front small.jpg

I recently received one from Russell Brunson. I’ve attached to images of it so you can see what it’s like…

So here’s the front side:Russell Brunson Tear Sheet Front

And here’s the backside: Russell Brunson Tear Sheet Back Side

Maybe we could have a copywriter critique or comment on this?

eBay and the Internet Marketing Journey

Well the holidays are over the bills are starting to pile up.  So, it’s time to knuckle down and get started with this project.

Back in late November, I signed up for another Internet marketing project called EasyProfitAuctions.com.

The creator of this web site is Alex Jeffries, who lives in Wales.  He was a construction worker, who through using eBay has developed a system that focuses on selling inexpensive products, viral products, and using the about me page to capture and build a list.

Camtasia like software at no cost

No matter where you go on the Internet today, if there’s a tutorial video, it’s typically made with Camtasia studio.

Camtasia is an excellent tool for Internet marketing.  This is true, especially if you have a software product that you want to demo. At $299 though it may be a little pricey for the beginner.  Also, they don’t have an affiliate program, otherwise I’d post a link here right now. :-)

Well, being the thrifty individual I am, I look for alternatives to the high-priced software, until I make enough money to buy it.  In the case of Camtasia there are a couple alternatives.

Dedicated Internet Marketing and My Journey

I’ve been screwing around with Internet marketing for a couple years now.  I started on eBay in 2000 and one selling used books.  I did as the easiest way to get started making money online, after I was laid off from a very good paying job as a result of the 9/11 attacks.

One of my problems, in regards to Internet marketing is that I like to keep learning things, and not applying them.  During this past year, I have gone to three or four on-site seminars, bought untold hundreds of dollars worth of PDF’s, ready built web sites, downloadable books and membership subscriptions.

But, now I’m ready to get serious about my online Internet marketing business.  So this blog will be used to document my process and journey.

You’re welcome to join me on this trip, and maybe we’ll learn something together.
